Nokia DoGood Hackathon at Nokia Factory, Helsinki

Nokia organized a “Do Good” Hackathon 9. – 10. of october at the Nokia Factory in Helsinki. Once again the nerds were called to save the world with their awesome innovative ideas. In the Hackathon there was two categories the “Main”-category and ”open data”-category and all the Windows Phone applications had to have the theme “Do Good”. Do Good means that the nerds started creating solutions to the worlds problems with using Windows Phone devices.

The overall winner and winner of Do Good category was MediKit application by Turku World Domination (TWD). Members of TWD are all current or former students from Turku University of Applied Sciences. The team member were Jesse Tuominen, Petrus Tuominen and Juhani Hakala. In a nutshell the MediKit application is a knowledge first aid kit which provides all kinds of information related to emergencies and incidents.

The jury was impressed by the originality and real life impact that the application brought to the table.

The overall winning team TWD got invited to the AppCampus programme for some serious startup funding!
